15th February, 2023

Carers4Carers are delighted to have been awarded a grant from Warwickshire County Council's Caring Together Innovation Fund. Part of the grant is allowing us to purchase a keyboard and a selection of small percussion instruments. This will enable us to offer our carers and companions many more musical activities. It is well-established that involvment in music has a positive effect on mental health and so we are delighted to be able to support our members in this way.

10th Anniversary

At our November meeting, we celebrated our 10th Anniversary. Invited guests, all of whom have supported us in a variety ways over the years, joined our carers and companions for a lovely morning. We looked back over the last ten years and took the opportunity to thank everyone who has supported us. In particular, we acknowledged the huge contirbution made by our volunteers, past and present. Our guests included Thomas Memery and Rob Rutherford from Omega and the morning culminated in the unveiling of our work of art by our MP, the Rt.Hon Sir Jeremy Wright. We have very much appreciated his visits to us on several occasions.

"The Garden or Respite" has been a project worked on by carers and companions under the guidance of ceramic artist, Penny Varley. We chose the theme of gardens as so many of our carers have said that the garden is their sanctuary. Every one created a three inch square tile and added garden themed texture. Following firing, the tiles were painted and then mounted on a plaque. The work is now hung in the Village Hall.
